The chemical industry demands a lot from rotating equipment. Any onsite equipment must meet the highest levels of quality and performance, overcome the harshest operating requirements and be able to handle the challenges posed by extreme temperatures, high pressures, volatile, aggressive and corrosive liquids.
The extreme demands placed on pumps within the Oil and Gas industry require high standards of reliability and operational best practice to ensure ongoing peak performance and safety.
Pumps are used in the research and development of both products and processes across a wide range of market sectors. In particular vacuum pumps play a vital role across the R&D industry.
Pumping asphalt and other bitumen based materials has its own set of challenges. Mechanical seals/packing failures can cause significant leakage and the high costs associated with loss of product, downtime, cleaning and environmental issues are a major consideration.
Many power plants will have more than 100 pumps on site performing a variety of different duties. A wide variety of different pump types are typically used including scroll, rotary vane, diaphragm, dry vacuum pumps, typically from a range of different pump brands.
The paper industry demands pumps that can cope with more challenging liquids such as slurries and sludges, which can be particularly viscous, plus aggressive chemicals. It also requires the movement of pulp suspensions of various densities and types. Often these have a solids component and so they exhibit specific flow behaviors.
The food industry has very particular requirements and pumps are required to handle viscous, delicate and temperature sensitive ingredients and products. Hygienic concerns are paramount across this industry and so food grade pumps, sanitary pumps and hygienic pumps are widely manufactured.
Waste water & water treatment pumping equipment includes a variety of designs such as Submersibles, Surface mounted pumps, General circulating pumps, HPHW pumps, Chemical pumps and Split case design pumps.
